How to change Maksuda
Maksuda is a slum that appeared back
in 1989 after the fall of the Soviet Union. What caused it to sprawl was the
lack of employment of minorities. Nowadays, Maksuda is synonymous with poverty
and for a good reason. Many of the minorities living there don’t contribute to
the economic growth of the city, some of them even do more harm than good.
The best way we could change this
for the better is by demolishing the huts and replacing them with inexpensive
apartment complexes. The minorities living there would be employed by the
government, doing community services and earning their money fairly. The flats
would be built using government funds and additional donations from the public.
Furthermore, building new flats
would not only improve the quality of life, but also the productivity of the
people living in Maksuda. As it is right now, the people don’t feel motivated
to work because of the terrible living conditions, therefore an improvement
would be very beneficial. Many of the people would feel closer to the rest of
society if It were to help them out in that fashion.
And while the government would be
providing most of the resources, it would definitely be thoughtful if the
public donated anything they could. Even old clothes or a can of beans would
help plenty.
The flats would be 5 storeys tall
with 15 apartments each. During their construction, the people in the area
would be left temporarily homeless, living in tents near the area. However, if
anyone is willing to help out and provide a shelter for them, they would be
rewarded by the government.
The minorities living in the flats
would be employed by the government to clean the streets of Varna and help with
the construction of other buildings. In exchange, they would be allowed to live
there of free and necessities would be provided by government funds and public
donations.
All in all, we are very excited for
this new project and hope that many other big cities follow our example for the
better.
