School is great, isn't it?

Sitting on an uncomfortable chair. Staring through the window. Almost falling asleep of boredom. Waiting for something. For something interesting to happen, for the bell to ring, for the day to be over and to repeat that- 5 days a week. That makes approximately 180 days per year. 180 days of stress, tiredness, demotivation and brainwashing. But still people say "School's great, isn't it?". Eating pizza is great. Making dreams come true- that's great. But getting being taught to shut your mouth and not express your feelings- how is that great? Feeling like a prisoner half an year every year is not okay. It not only kills enthusiasm and creativity- it kills personalities. The truth is that only 1 in 4 believe they are living up to their creative potential and only 39% describe themselves as being creative. But how come can we have the curiosity to learn something, to do something that matters, when we don't get the chance to? Half of the teachers only think about the money they will get at the end of the month and half of the students dream every morning of the moment when they'll go back home and spend their nights in front of the screen. How did we ruin the relationship between us? When did the gap become so big? We have lost our sense of adaptation. Welcoming change, trying a different method and being ready to cooperate and adapt- that's not weakness. It is showing that you are wise and also a person, who creates his own way, when there is none. Only by showing support and understanding can we outgrow this problem. We should remember that it is not easy for anyone. People once said "Knowledge is power, but enthusiasm pulls the switch." Right now school seems powerless.
